Windows NT/2000/XP et Windows 95/98/Me

Les changements effectués dans la base de registre par W32/Yaha-T devraient être supprimés avec de supprimer les fichiers contenant le ver.

Dans la barre des tâches, cliquez sur Démarrer|Exécuter. Entrez 'Regedit' pour ouvrir l'éditeur de registre.

Avant d'éditer le registre, vous devrez faire une sauvegarde du registre. Dans le menu Registre, cliquez sur Exporter le fichier du registre, dans Etendue de l'exportation, sélectionnez Tout puis sauvegardez votre registre.

Recherchez les clés sous HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE :

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

et

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices

et supprimez toute référence vers
MicrosoftServiceManager = <Système Windows>\WINTSK32.EXE.

Recherchez la clé HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT :

HKCR\exefile\shell\open\command

supprimez uniquement le chemin vers le ver. Ne supprimez rien d'autre.

Après la suppression du texte, la clé devrait être de la forme

HKCR\exefile\shell\open\command\(default) = "%1" %*

Fermez l'éditeur de registre.

Edition du fichier Win.ini

Dans la barre des tâches, cliquez sur Démarrer|Exécuter et entrez Sysedit. Faîtes passer Win.ini au premier plan. Dans la section [windows], recherchez les lignes commençant par 'Run=' ou 'Load=' et supprimez toute référence à REG32.EXE et à son chemin. Supprimez uniquement ces références, pas les autres.

Installation du correctif

Microsoft a publié un correctif qui protège contre la faille de sécurité de l'en-tête MIME et IFRAME. Celu-ci peut être téléchargé à partir de http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS01-027.asp.
(Ce correctif répond à de nombreuses failles de sécurité dans les logiciels Microsoft, incluant celles exploitées par ce ver.)

W32/Yaha-T est un ver qui se propage en s'envoyant par e-mail par SMTP aux adresses extraites de diverses sources depuis l'ordinateur de la victime, en se copiant sur les partages réseau et en se copiant sur les autres lecteurs connectés à l'ordinateur.

Le ver se copie dans le dossier système de Windows sous les noms de fichier WINTSK32.EXE et EXELDR32.EXE et ajoute dans la base de registre les entrées suivantes pour s'exécuter au redémarrage du système :

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
MicrosoftServiceManager = <système Windows>\WINTSK32.EXE

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices\
MicrosoftServiceManager= <système Windows>\WINTSK32.EXE

W32/Yaha-H change aussi dans la base de registre l'entrée sous
HKCR\exefile\shell\open\command pour que le ver soit exécuté avant tout fichier EXE.

W32/Yaha-T essaie d'exploiter une faille IFRAME présente dans certaines versions de Microsoft Internet Explorer et Outlook Express qui permet une exécution automatique des fichiers joints aux e-mails lorsque ceux-ci sont lus.

Le champs De des e-mails est construit aléatoirement à partir des listes suivantes de noms et d'adresses e-mail.

Le ferme ferme les fenêtres portant les noms "Process Viewer", "Registry Editor", "System Configuration Utility" et "Windows Task Manager".

W32/Yaha-T supprime aussi les fichiers et entrées de la base de registre en relation avec certains types de logiciels.

W32/Yaha-T peut aussi placer un plugin DLL qui lui permet d'enregistrer les touches utilisées puis de les envoyées à une adresse externe.

Le ver peut aussi essayer de lancer une attaque de déni de service sur les URL suivantes :
